Rachel Miller is a health and wellbeing mentor helping people struggling with chronic illness, to learn new strategies and take back control of their lives.
Having struggled herself with chronic illness, and earning her masters degree in Health Psychology, she realised that the most effective form of mentoring is when both the coach and the client share a similar experience.
She took these learnings forward into setting up her own mentoring business, so that she could help others who were suffering with chronic illnesses, and work with them to live fuller and happier lives.
After building her own website, but feeling like it didn't reflect her high level of work, Rachel was looking for a site that:
After building her site in Mailchimp, Rachel could tell that web design wasn't her zone of genius and set out to find some help in improving her site, and showcasing herself as qualified, welcoming, and professional.
"I realised I couldn’t do it all on my own - I had other things I needed to dedicate my time and energy to"
In the morning, Rachel had a website she didn't like, that wasn't effective and she wasn't confident in sharing. By the evening she had a brand new site that she loves and was super excited to share on her social accounts!
We incorporated an enquiry form, as well as embedding a plugin for Rachels booking system in order to make it as easy as possible for people to either drop her a message, or book a call - whatever they're more comfortable with.
Ready to make a purchase? No need to send an email, book a call, and wait for an invoice. Rachels new site links to each of her packages so clients can choose how many sessions they want, and book straight away.
Rachel never had a cookie or privacy policy for her previous site, and users weren't able to manage which cookies were active. Now she's ticking all of the boxes for GDPR compliancy and doesn't have to worry.
Booking the Website in a Day package means you get to save money but supplying colours, fonts, images and copy yourself. Rachel sent over her chosen colours, and the font used in her logo so I could pair it with a suitable body text.
Her logo was written in Playfair Display so we used that for her headings, and paired it with Lato for the body text.
Playfair Display
"She's your lobster. Come on, you guys. It's a known fact that lobsters fall in love and mate for life."
Lato
"She's your lobster. Come on, you guys. It's a known fact that lobsters fall in love and mate for life."
As this was a small site, we didn't need a tonne of pictures to fill out the page. Rachel supplied a selection of photos which worked well with her colours, and the feeling she wants her brand to create - relaxed, welcoming and safe.
The copy that Rachel provided was detailed, clear, and helped enormously with how I designed the site.
Learning about Rachel and her business through the copy she had written, it made my job a lot easier to plan the layout for the site, and think about other functionalities the website could have.
Rachels website was built in one (longer than usual) day but it was great to be able to give her this really quick win so she can move forward with her business plans. By getting to know Rachel, and keeping her updated with how the design for the webpage was looking, I was able to bring together all of her content to a site that actually works for her business.
The completed website is made up of 3 main elements:

"I felt like my website did not present my business and services professionally and was feeling overwhelmed at the prospect of redesigning it myself. The website is how clients book my services, and it is the landing point for my whole business, and I felt that as it was not presenting me in the best way, I could be losing potential clients.
Realising I couldn’t do it all on my own and I had other things I needed to dedicate my time and energy to, I decided to get in touch.
You were friendly and able to answer all my newbie technology related questions with the basic stuff I didn’t understand! Supportive, responsive, easy to contact and a problem solver. I am so happy with the design and feel of my new site.
Honestly? I can’t think of anything that was an issue or wasn’t easily resolved. I especially liked that we could just Whatsapp during the day of web page creation with updates/anything needing doing."
